Welcome to the Business Education department at Saco High School!
Mrs. Sunford:
6th Computers: The purpose of this class is to give students keyboarding and computer skills that will enable them throughout their school years, in their personal lives, and in their future occupations. By the end of the school year, the students will be able to type the entire keyboard and format professional documents.
7/8 Business: The purpose of this class is to build on typing skills through the use of navigating Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Slides, etc,. The creation of professional documentation practice is reinforced, and students also learn about internet safety, advertising, and much more!
9th Business: This class will be using the Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance by Dansby, Gassen and Clark. Other materials being used are a Security First Banking Simulation by Sargent and Ward and an On Your Own Budgeting Simulation by Donnelly.
Mr. Pippin:
12th Business: The textbooks for this class are Personal Financial Literacy by Joan S. Ryan and Foundations in Personal Finance by Dave Ramsey. Basic business skills learned in 9th grade will be refreshed and built upon, as the students gear up for college and the work world.
