I can learn a new piece of music on my own!

Welcome to Junior High Choir!  I am excited to have your students four times a week for the entire school year! 

This year we will focus on breathing for singing and proper breath support as well as vowel shapes and consonants!!! 

My goals for the you, the students:

• Have fun learning music and performing some of the songs we learn at concerts and festivals
• Learn warm ups that you can use on your own to better prepare your voice for singing
• Increase your confidence in singing to the point you can sing in front of your peers (this is a large feat!)
• Have fun singing songs from other eras and learn new styles
• Start learning the basics of sight reading in a choral setting
• Have fun performing songs at a high proficiency level

My biggest goal is to ensure the students have fun!! I recall middle school choir as a horrible experience which led me away from high school choir. My goal is to keep as many kids singing into high school and, hopefully, into adulthood.
